Profile:

Claire is the Managing Partner of Beale & Co (Middle East). She has over 20 years of experience in all forms of dispute resolution, specialising in construction disputes for clients in the Middle East, Central Asia, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region.

With a focus on international arbitration, she regularly manages large scale complex cross-border international arbitrations, DAB proceedings and mediations. Claire also sits as an Arbitrator. She has arbitrated under the rules of all the major arbitral institutions including, ICC, DIFC-LCIA, DIAC, ADCCAC, UNCITRAL and Ad Hoc proceedings.

Claire advises on disputes arising out of major international infrastructure projects, acting for international developers, contractors and employers. She has advised on a wide variety of projects including high-rise towers, commercial buildings, infrastructure, highways, ports, leisure centres, railway refurbishments, oil projects, desalination plants, tunnels and residential developments.

Alongside her disputes practice Claire leads and mentors a talented team of lawyers in the Dubai office, which is recognised as by Legal 500 EMEA 2021 as “an office which will provide dedicated services, with a truly international outlook.” Claire has been instrumental in the firm’s ongoing success with her wealth of experience practising in the Middle East and her commercial and legal knowledge of the industry.

Claire is represented in all the major legal directories. She is ranked as a Leading Lawyer in Chambers Global for Construction: Dispute Resolution, and as a Leading Individual in Legal 500 EMEA for Construction. Claire is also listed as a Thought Leader in Who’s Who Legal for Construction, recognised for her vast expertise and experience advising on some of the world’s most significant and cutting-edge legal matters, and her ability to innovate, inspire, and go above and beyond to deliver for clients.

Claire regularly contributes to the construction sector trade press and is asked to speak at conferences and events.
